Women have not been able to enjoy human rights like men have. Violence against women has almost never been labeled as violation of human rights. Two ways violence against women is ignored: When both men and women"s rights are violated in extreme ways (gas chamber, dismemberment, etc. ), it is not registered as violence against women (treated like men) ( human ) Domestic violence, or violence specifically towards women ( woman ) Genocide against muslims and croatians in serbia. Women and children sent to rape/death camps and violated by serbian soldiers. Sexual violence is allowed because men attribute it to excess of passion, spoils of victory . Mass rape was a tool used in war/ethnic cleansing by serbians. Serbians treated this as an honorable act, enjoyed doing it. Ethnic rape > children are seen as pure serbians. Un also involved in rapes some officers encouraged and took part in it (raped muslim and croatian women)
