Document Summary

If reproducers have decided to have a child, and selection is possible, then any procreative option selected by reproducers is morally permissible as long as it is chosen autonomously. However this can also mean that they can pick the worst option. They say this is an implausible moral principle o o. If reproducers cannot choose a child whose life will be worth living, then they ought not to have a child at all. In favor: you have options to choose from so its not just predetermined. Also at some point it will be hard to choose which one will be best option so better to have options. Against: not necessarily know which will be best if its just a good enough so may just focus on specific qualities. It will often be easier to be confident that a condition will make a life go better than that it will lead to the most advantaged life.
