Noise exposure and trauma: noise exposure is one of the most common causes of hearing loss. Ears are very vascularized, lots of blood going to them. Any loss of blood supply can cause suffocation and the cells in the ear can die. A lack of oxygen to the ear causes damage. Neural disorders: brain tumor, brain stem tumor. Bone disorders: bones can thin (osteoporosis) Tumors and other neoplastic growths: neoplastic (cid:523)cancer(cid:524) it doesn"t just mean cancer though. Conductive hearing disorders the individual is born with low set ears they have a higher change of hearing difficulties: otoscopy look inside ear canal and look at the auricle, and not position of t the pinna. )f it hasn"t been there since birth, it is probably not a pre- Auricular pertaining to the outer ear or auricle. Anotia congenital absence of an auricle. Pre-auricular pits small hole of variable depth lying anterior to the auricle.
