Nation: has cultural boundaries; a group of people in a particular place who share a particular culture. Nation-state: when the boundaries of the nation are the same as the political boundaries. Important for people not to infringe on certain cultures home land. Occurs within a society; between members of that society. Harming of one person by another (or several people) Not used often in a state society because it"s hard to enforce due to population size. A revolt against an existing political leader. Don"t want to change the system of government just who" is in place of power. For example go from communism to democracy. Solve using war, or even better (non-violent) use negotiation. Conflict between the government of canada and the mohawk people in quebec. The local mohawk people discuss how important language is to them and their cultural heritage; the language of the mohawk people is trying to be recovered by teaching it to children.
