Assyrians conquered all of mesopotamia and near east first time ever these were under one rule. 1st factor assyrians were lucky to have a number of good rulers like tiglath pileser and sargon . 2nd factor, they had a very big army. 3rd fator, made use of iron technology, was cheaper to make and equip a larger army.
