Neglect often ends up as a gps case. Must be conducted within 60 days: cps is for things like marks on a child. With a cac, the child only has to tell the story once so that is limits the impact and the space for error in the story. Typical services provided to children and families: medical examination, forensic interviewing, referrals for psychological treatment, child advocate for legal issues. Not every allegation of child maltreatment goes to a cac: if it"s a false allegation, if it happens at a time that a cac is not open or available. Cac interviews the child forensically and medically. Cps investigation interviews the reporter, parent, witnesses. Multidisciplinary investigative teams (mdits) (* = who must be present: child protective services , child advocate, law enforcement , medical professionals, district attorney , behavioral health providers, forensic interviewers, social workers. Only counties that can afford it have it typically.
