A. the holistic study of humanity with an emphasis on in depth examinations of context and cross cultural comparisons: 4 fields (in us) Linguistic anthropology: study of how language in uences social life, how word use impacts a person, slang, speaking to elders, social politenes, gestures with ngers. Cultural anthropology: study of human societies and cultures and development. Physical anthropology: study of human biological and physiological characteristic and development, archaeology, study of how human history and pre=history through excavation and analysis of artifacts, utilize formal methodologies. Forensic anthropology: application of theory and methods of anthropology to forensic problems, 3 primary tasks, postmortem reconstruction, victim biological pro ling, present evidence of trauma during death event. Estimating early ages: male and female skeletal developments differ. B. females generally develop earlier: bone development sequences and timing differ from population to population, age estimates from skeletons should be termed in ranges and utilize all indicators present (ex. teeth)
