Craters of the Moon
• What are the light olored areas ad the dark olored areas o the Moo?
o Dark areas: maria/seas represent volcanic oceans (long cooled and
hardened)
o Light colored areas: sun has been weathering the surface material.
Highlands: hilly mountains
Differences between the near side and far side of the Moon.
o Near side: few very big ones, lot more maria
o Far side: much more craters, almost no maria, but lots of impact craters
o *earth is literally protecting the near side of the moon
Space the Final Frontier - Gravity
What is graity?
o An acceleration. Attraction between two objects, resulting in acceleration.
*towards the center of the earth
