Document Summary

Light- a subset of wavelength in the electromagnetic spectrum light travels in transverse waves. Electromagnetic radiation- a kind of radiation including visible light, radio, waves, gamma rays, and x-rays, in which electric and magnetic fields vary simultaneously. It is kinetic energy bc it is moving energy. Wave-photon duality- light travels in wavelike fashions with single packets of energy called photons. Photons don"t have mass, move like bundles. Visible spectrum- different colors of light have different wavelengths. Wavelengths have vibrations in the air, no ether. Color of an object- the color of an object is determined by which wavelengths are reflected back to the retina (not absorbed by the object) White- all wavelengths reflected by an object, all the colors together, reflected by the object. Black- all wavelengths absorbed by object, absorbed by the object, absence of color, no color is hitting the eye: light and pigment are different.
