Neolithic art: this was the rst time that the architecture was built for shelter, humans started to build homes and centres that served the community. Stonehenge: was in the neolithic [neolithic is derived from greek], ~ 2000 bce. It was a stone circle that was erected purposefully in england (salisbury plain). It belongs to a class/category of stone circles scattered in britain, france and around the world: the stonehenge is particularly famous due to its size and solar alignment. !1: henge = embankment/ditch, after the embankment, they erected the large stones to make the stone circle. Monday, 12 september 2016: there is an alter at the centre of the inner horseshoe, of excavations, we know that the stones erected are not found in the vicinity of the structure; 2. they come from ~ 20 miles away: each stone weighs ~ 50 tonnes, the inner stones come from ~ 100 miles away.
