Document Summary
Research in the area of mental processes and neural processes. Focuses on how the brain produces mental processes and controls behavior. Interdisciplinary field: psychologists, biologists, computer scientists, chemists, neurologists, linguists. Genes and behavior are linked by evolutions which has fundamentally shaped psychological processes because it favors genetic variations that produce adaptive behavior. Natural selection is individuals who best adapted to the environment are more likely to flourish and reproduce. Sexual selection is well-adapted individuals are chosen as maters for good health, physical fitness and their ability for better mate and offspring. Giraffes adapted with their long necks for a better food source, short neck giraffe mated with long neck giraffe. Genotype- an organism"s genetic makeup, what makes you different from other people. Phenotype- physical characteristics, visible traits and biological traits. Dna= deoxyribonucleic acid= a molecule that is made of double strands of nucleotide bases. It encodes all the genetic instructions used in the development and functioning of all living organisms.
