Mt (v5): 90% of the neurons have preference for direction (that is why it is motion preference) As you get along these streams and do various analysis. Have to put electrodes into the monkey and clamp it. If you should monkey one face, neuron fired like crazy. What is it in this picture that that makes that neuron fire. Simplified stimulus (broke down the larger picture into smaller parts): black circle (also fired, but not as much) Thought, round circle with two black dots, no reaction. Just mouth of the original monkey picture, no reaction. If the eyes are white and mouth is not all black, will not fire. What makes the neuron fire: two black eyes, black mouth, gray background. Results: this neuron requires this specifically to be fired.
