They are juvenile crimes: underage drinking, running away, promiscuity (e. g. parents dislike boyfriend, too much sex, underage gambling, truancy (e. g. cutting school, curfew violations. Which limitations of the ucr were srd meant to correct: dark figure of crime, no ucr data on personality, values, beliefs, potential for race and class bias in the ucr. Why the srd focus on crime by teenagers: b/c 13-17 year olds have disproportionately high crime rates. I. e. they make up 14% of us pop: but, they account for 38% of ucr index crime, part i crime peaks at ages 17 & 18, then declines, most people age out b/t ages 17-22.
