Document Summary

Study of how physical stimuli are translated into psychological experience. Perception: the selection, organization, and interpretation of sensory input. Occurs as rays of light are collected by the eyes and focus on the retina. The cooke is frowning , there is a heart in the sky . The key point: humans rely heavily on sight. Much of our sensation and subsequent perception starts with visual cues. Cornea: where light first enters the eye. Pupil: permits light to pass into the rear chamber of the eye. Iris: colored ring of muscles surrounding the pupil. Lens: transparent eye structure that focuses the light rays falling on the retina. Retina: neural tissue lining the inside back surface of the eye (sends info to brain) There are cases where the brain does not organize inverted retinal images, causing a person to experience the world upside down. Wore reversing telescoping glasses for 8 days.
