Older people who are sexually active may be at risk for diseases syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydial infection, genital herpes, hepatitis b, genital warts, and trichomoniasis. Negin, rozea and martiniuk (2014) conducted a review of available studies on interventions for hiv specifically targeted towards older adults. They found 12 studies that fit specific criteria for their review (see paper for details) which focused on the year of 2012 (after review of 1, 229 articles) Findings: lack of published work on this topic! Only 4 of the studies were randomized control trials.
