Hindsight bias: the tendency to see a given outcome as inevitable once the actual outcome is known. Knew it all along phenomenon refers to peoples tendency to believe, once they"ve learned the outcome of something. Focus on the scientific method in social psych means that you should carefully examine research findings presented (don"t just believe what you read/hear) How is social psychology connected to other fields. Focus on the role of individual differences, meaning the aspects of peoples personality that make them different from other people (and explaining how people feel + behave) Emphasis on how peoples individual differences influence their attitudes, thoughts and behavior (what is the role of the situation) Vs social psychologist would try to examine the rile of situational factors in producing the behavior: focuses on the interaction of aspects of personality, such as self-esteem etc influencing behavior in a situation) Focus on understanding and treating people with psychological disorder such as schizophrenia, depression and phonias.
