A distinct period of abnormally and persistently elevated, expansive, or irritable mood and abnormally and persistently increased goal-directed. At least three of the following symptoms are present. More talkative than usual or pressure to keep talking. Fight of ideas or subjective experience of racing thoughts. Increase in goal-directed activity or psychomotor agitation. Medical treatment may be combined with therapy, like cbt, interpersonal therapy, or family therapy. More women attempt suicide, but more men complete suicides, due to using more lethal methods.
