Mollusks have a three part body plan, retained in some form in all of. Mollusks have a three part body plan, retained in some form in all of the groups: visceral mass, foot, mantle. In all of the groups the organ systems are clustered centrally in the middle. The muscular foot is used for a variety of purposes. Can be used as anchors or to catch food. In some situations the foot can play multiple parts. The mantle covers the dorsal portion of all mollusks. A thicken sheet of skin that covers the organs. There are variable levels of cephalization in mollusks. Mollusks have a specialized mouthpart called the radula. There are some with distinct parts but there are some that are the same. Used to scrape food off of rocks and other things.
