Walking on music - styns et al. (2007) Intro: music is associated with movement and many activities are centered around music, measured by synchronization and spatialization. Tempos associated with (120bpm) associate with natural beats such as the heart. Sound level transfers to a more emotional area correlating to velocity. **music reduces perceived exertion which increases work output. 20 people ranging in age from 20-29 with 17 musicians. Stimuli: 2 series containing 34 musical fragments and 6 metronome fragments that varied in tempo. Tools: mp3 player (for listening), mp3 player (for recording footstep/tempo), gps (heart rate/walking speed, metronome, touch key. 5 second pause and instructed to press lap during pauses. Exp 1: instructed to walk to the tempo of the stimuli: walk during the fragment and pause in-between between series were given snacks. Exp 2: measured finger tapping synchronization while listening to same music heard in exp 1. Participants then rated how they found the music (difficult, happy or sad, etc)
