Large eyes and small mouth gives image that statue in shock/awe of being in presence of deity: warka vase (slide 16) Horizontal bands to organize the vase (called registers ) Every other band is plain = ground line for objects to stand on. Get bigger toward top (top one is inanna and ritual marriage) Hierarchical scale: bull lyre (harp slide 18)
