Document Summary

Median: middle point of a range of values. Range: all values, difference of the maximum and the minimum. All methods of central tendency, all give us different information. Methods section: add information of how we think we would analyze our data if we did conduct our experiment. Univariate: one aspect is studied in an experiment. Bivariate: using 2 aspects to study in an experiment. This is where correlation can begin to be analyzed. Indirect correlation: when one goes up, the other goes down. Direct correlation: when one goes up, the other goes up. Often has an asterisk next to the data. Very rarely is something proved in research , more often it suggests or infers a correlation. Type 1 error: false positive so you get a significant result that actually is not. e. g. telling a man he is pregnant. Type 2 error: false negative, is actually positive e. g. telling a 9-month pregnant woman she is not pregnant.
