Estimated lifetime risk: women tend to live longer and have higher chance to develop diseases. Projected to have dramatic increases, more for older ages: alzheimer"s disease and race, older african american and hispanic people are more likely than older caucasian people to have alzheimer"s disease and other dementias. Ses and health are very closely related: alzheimer"s disease: prevalence (video, dementia irreversible deterioration of key areas of the brain involved in cognitive function. Short-term memory loss is the hallmark sign of dementia. Social, physical capabilities are affected next: most patients die from other causes (pneumonia or other falls indirectly, millions of americans with disease and alzheimer"s disease continues to grow. It"s projected to increase as the baby boomers generation ages: over 5 million americans have alzheimer"s disease; the 6th leading cause of death, many patients are not told their diagnosis for alzheimer"s disease.
