Consequentialism: doctrine that the morality of an action is to be judged solely by its consequences: action based. Deontology: the study of moral obligation, ethical theory concerned with duties and rights: action based. Virtue ethics: doctrine that focuses on who we should be, rather than what we should do: don"t focus on the action; focus on who you are and what virtues you want to develop in yourself, character based.
