Development in communication and transportation technology- timespace compression . Development of the international financial market, the expansion of the international trade in services. Globalization is a combination of spatial dispersal and global integration. Pace of economic transformation has created a new form of world politics. We live in the age of increased flow of people, things, and ideas. However, even as globalization makes us more connected than ever, we have not become more and more like one another. Differences have not been reduced or erased through globalization. Instead, globalization has reproduced and contested these differences on a larger geo-historical scale more than ever before. Difficulty in creating consensus about iraq, afghanistan, north korea, iran. Everything is political, but not everything is politics. 4 scales of inquiry in global politics: global factors, systemic factors, domestic sources, individual. Theories are not different views of the same world but views of different worlds.
