Document Summary

Studying the adaptation of sea slugs and snails in ponds. Piaget had a science background and wanted to use that. Start with someone who doesn"t know anything to get the bigger picture. Studying children"s development allows him to pursue his philosophical interests in a scientific way. His got a job helping bine come up with questions for his test. Come up with a set of questions that an average 8-10-12 year old could come up with correctly. Piaget found himself fascinated with what children were getting wrong. Kids weren"t just making errors because they couldn"t come. There were clear patterns to the types of errors kids made at different age. He became convinced that it isn"t just that older children know more than younger, but they reason about the world in fundamentally different ways. Pose problems for kids and allow them to solve it. Explain what and why they thought the answer was correct.
