The trigeminal nerve: starts out of the face, but the cell bodies ae within the skull, so it is part of the cns not the pns (a cranial nerve) Carinal nerve: carries both motor and sensory info to the neck. The retina and the cochlea are classified as brain tissue, so cns. Superior-inferior: top to bottom axis (vision to hearing, above to below) Proximal: nearest point of the limb, where it attaches to the body. Spinal cord runs 2/3 down the back then the spinal fibers branch out but the spinal column goes all the way down. Syatic nerve is the largest nerve in the body. Vestibular system: sense of balance system with gravity. Common features of the central nervous system (cns) All neurons connect to (not physically) and interact with other neurons.
