Our brains interpret the images sent by the eyes. Structures in the eyes ensure that enough light enters the eyes. You wake up in the middle of the night. As you look around the dark room your pupils. When there is lots of light, you want to manage how much enters the eyes, so the eyes constrict. When it is dark, the eyes dilate to let in more light. Smooth muscle is involuntary, it moves on its own. There are circular and radial smooth muscles that make up the iris. When there is dim light, the radial muscles contract. When there is bright light, the circular muscles contracts. You turn on a light so you can get a glass of water. At the moment the light turn on, the amount of neurotransmitters released by your rods and cones ____ When we see, our photoreceptors are being hyperpolarized.
