Some positive and negative symptoms (dont need all) Hallucinations, (illusory perceptions) esp auditory (most common) Can also be visual, olfactory, tactile, gustatory. Someone is out to get me difficult to get help bc no trust. Grandeur: i"m the king of the world. Erotomania: believes someone famous is in love w them. Adding to word salad of loosely associated words. Avolition (less motivation, initiative, focus on tasks) Onset: typically at end of adolescence and in early adulthood, later for women than men. Prevalence: nearly 1% of pop, slightly more men than women. Acute/reactive: in reaction to stress, more positive symptoms such as hallucinations. Recovery is likely bc medication works better in reducing positive symptoms. Chronic/process: develops slowly, w more negative symptoms such as flat affect and social withdrawal.
