A lawyers" only job is to try to win the case. Rudy in the rainmaker showed the implications of getting personally attached to the client"s case. Lawyers are not taught how to behave/feel in law school. The same law can apply to different cases differently. The case that wins is not necessarily the morally sound choice. The case that wins does not always get fair compensation. When lawyers are pursuing justice, justice is not always served. Morality and ethics can play a role in lawyers" stances and behaviors. Based on arguments against the other side. Even when the rules require disclosure of the truth, often no penalty on lawyer who fails to do so in order to protect his client. No respect for the rules, fairness, and justice.
