What is a friend: aspects and qualities variations and similarities. Intimacy: knowledge, interdependence, caring, trust, responsiveness, mutuality, and commitment, similarities and variations within friendships and between romantic relationships. A voluntary personal relationship, typically providing intimacy and assistance, in which the two parties like one another and seek each other"s company. Variations and similarities: feelings , intensity and enactment - less passionate commitment, rules of conduct, but similarities too - Capitalization - sharing good news and positive. Emotional - ex. shoulder to cry on, take care of you when you"re drunk. Women"s friendships are typically centered in convo. Women"s friendships are situated in culture, class, life position, and affectional circumstances. Women"s friendships are the site for both conversation and resistance of gendered social structures and processes. Continuity - when you share a past it encourages a connection. Perceived compatibility - specific events for specific friends. Similar in what we value and seek in friends.
