Basic overview of how divorce transitions impact on children. Legal process that draws out/stretches, begins with awareness. Stages in the divorce process transition periods (ahrons): One of the partners begins to experience marital distress, believe there is no hope for the future of their relationship, divorce starts to be seen as more and more likely. Can take about 2 years for divorce to actually happen. Kids experience potentially spillover effect from possibility of divorce.
