Water is a solvent for many different biological systems. Roll in water so that it evaporates from their skin and takes the heat. Water that is chemically bound and released when nutrients or body tissues are broken down by the metabolic processes that occur in an animals cells. Lots of animals adapted to arid climates get a lot of their water though this process. Ex most dry feedstuffs like hay contain~10%, while corn silage. Ex most dry feedstuffs like hay contain~10%, while corn silage contains ~70% Water consumption reduced, feed consumption and performance will be reduced. Amount lost in feces varies greatly among species. Often water content in feces reflects the water content in the food. Increased in higher temperature, in higher winds, decreased in high humidity. A dairy cow can loose up to 9 gallons of water per day in her milk. As water quality declines, consumption of water and feed intake also normally decline.
