The culture of children refers to the habits, styles, values, & rules that set children apart from adult society. Ex: secret clubs , cootie catchers , dress code, language, attitudes, etc. Fitting it with one peer"s is a major priority during middle childhood. Peers are sources of self-validation, advice, and companionship. Peers can be both a positive and a negative influence. Peers send strong messages regarding moral rules & values within the context of friendship. Don"t tell on a friend to an adult.
