Document Summary

Duct can be simple or bridged simple - 1 duct. Bridged - more than 1 duct secretory unit can be tubular or alveolar tubular - straight. Merocrine glands cells that release vacuoles of secretory product. Holocrine glands secretory cell fills u w/ vacuoles and bursts cell fills with items and falls apart, releasing materials. Maybe in milk glands the apocrine end of cells fills with product then breaks off the release product but cell regenerates. 4 types: connective tissue proper, cartilage, bone, blood. Function: support, protection, store materials, transport materials. Main type, found in all ct, flexible but strong fibers. Elastic fibers stretch but return to original length when pressure released reticular strong, wire- like fibers that don"t stretch form framework of cells to hold shape of ct + gives cells attachment site. Cells fibroblasts or fibrocytes - make fibers in gags.
