Politics: process in which power is being used to promote certain values, ideologies, Power: ability to get another actor to do what u want that other actor to do. Actor can be a person, state, or organization etc; can take on many forms. Types(that can be exercised): (according to muir) (a) Coercion: using fear, intimidating, violence & etc as a way of getting the other actor to do what u want/compel. Reciprocity: leader & submissive; alternations happen bc there are relationships between actors. Becomes a potential source of power; bc having a relationship is important to each individual actor involved. Reciprocal episodes; ie friendship bonding//thats why its a powerful source. Morality: ability to get things done, bc other actors believe its the right thing to do.
