Document Summary

Questions on reading: rs #25, wilson, the economic plight of inner-city black. Males : wilson believes that patterson downplays the importance of immediate socio economic factors of these black males. It also has to do a lot on how other people see them. Many employers make huge generalizations about inner-city black male workers and based upon these generalizations they decide not to hire them for the job. In my high school in my small hometown, my friend and i were pretty much the only. Actually we were the only two in these advanced classes. And although no one ever said it directly to our face, we were expected to fail and resort to regular classes. I heard someone say once, that we (mexicans) are hard workers in the kitchen and construction sites, not classrooms. But over time, and with lots of hard work and effort put in, we proved everyone wrong.
