Document Summary

Td301- light design lecture by aaron curry- 1. 6. What they don"t say: silences, pauses, etc. What light is on stage: natural and unnatural. Each of these aspects reveal little bits of information. The lighting and design talk to the audience unconsciously: the audience doesn"t realize the magnitude of the impact that occurs, ex: if a lamp is on, we can conclude it is dark outside. Making marks on paper or using digital programs to make blueprints of what they hope to achieve on a 3d stage. Used to communicate what they want with technical team so they can bring design to life. Ellipsoidal reflector spotlight: long distance, harsh beam. Fresnel: short distances, soft adjustable beam spread, helps make a small light spot or can be used to make a huge circle. Stripight: fill light, great for color washes on soft goods. Technical rehearsals: turn on light, start to realize designs, begin building cues.
