BUSINESS MANAGEMENT Lecture Notes - Lecture 1: Organizational Chart, Customer Satisfaction
Document Summary
Implementing process-based management is one of the most effective management tools for improving how your organization is managed. A process is a collection of activities that aim to create value by converting an input into an output, and the output becomes the input of another process. Every activity within an organization, from the purchase of raw materials to the resolution of complaints, can and should be thought of as a process. This provides a comprehensive view of the organization and its internal relationships. Process-driven organizations are more adaptable than hierarchical organizations. The process is cross-cutting and affects various organizational units, resulting in improved person-to-person relationships. Each process is assigned a point of contact. Everyone in the organization understands their role in each process and how it contributes to their overall goals. The work is not done alone, but rather to ensure that certain parts of the organization benefit.
