Document Summary

Fat (adipose tissue) in yellow bone marrow. Storage is dy(cid:374)a(cid:373)i(cid:272), whe(cid:374) (cid:271)ody does(cid:374)"t (cid:374)eed either they are (cid:373)o(cid:271)ilized from bone to blood stream to reach target areas. Contains adiposities (adipose cells) on radiograph appears as bright white areas (fat) On radiograph it is the darker areas, surrounds the trabecular bone in medulla. Histological defining features rbc, wbc large round. Younger people have predominantly red bone marrow- as we age it is converted to predominantly yellow bone marrow and will appear brighter on a radiograph. Spongy bone is surrounded by bone marrow case challenge 45 years old, living in high altitude, vegan, with bouts of iron deficiency anemia due to diet. Mr imaging appearance of her bone marrow would be dark, due to more red bone marrow. There is reduced oxygen coming into her body (high altitude), therefore decreased levels of red blood cells. Reduced iron levels also result in a reduced ability of haem groups to carry the oxygen.
