Scientific management = identifying the one, most efficient way to complete a job. Motion study = breaking each task or job into separate motions and then eliminating those that are unnecessary or repetitive. Introduced the idea of scheduling work by producing time charts and planning activities. These charts are still used today by project managers and in retail. It provides managers with detailed planning information such as what tasks need more allocated time, which tasks need more resources, etc. He also introduced paying for performance as well as rewarding training. Developed an understanding of groups in the workplace. She believes that the manager"s job is to help people cooperate with one another. She developed the idea that there is a healthy level of conflict that is constructive in the workplace. The mere practice of observing one"s behaviour tends to cause them to alter their behaviour.
