271 views3 pages

Document Summary

There is lots of uneven income growth between several different countries. Countries such as japan started growing later, but grew at a quicker rate. Because of an uneven distribution of growth between countries, there is a large income gap between rich and poor countries. The good news is we are living through the greatest period of poverty alleviation in this generation today, which bodes well for the future of cutting the income gap. There is a vast difference between total gdp and income per capita. Some countries might have a very high gdp from having a high population, but it is not distributed equally. Differences in income per capita among countries can be broken down into: one part the accumulation of factors of production and the productivity of those factors. Productivity differences can be attributed to the differences in technology in those countries and the differences in efficiency.
