In an experiment designed to evaluate using video conferencing equipment in stat 231. Professors in the course wanted to know if the students learned the same amount of material if the lecture was seen live rather than via a video-conferencing link. Section 1 was therefore randomly split into two sub-sections a and b. At the end of the lecture each group was given the same 10 minute quiz in order to investigate how much of the material they had understood. The students could review the material after the lecture by downloading the broadcast lecture. After they has a chance to download a second quiz was given on the material. The mark that each student received in stat 230 was used in the analysis.
