Early fossil records: there are 5 geniuses. Lumpers and splitters: lumpers are paleoanthropologists that tend to want to combine fossil species together or lump species together, splitters are paleoanthropologists that recognize the differences in fossils and split fossil species apart. Spoiler refers to a fossil that is found that challenges the traditional understanding of the fossil record. Terms: post-orbital constriction (poc) a trait that is behind the eye orbits. Paleoanthropology: most of the early fossils are found in africa. Fossils are typically found through quarrying activities or in the caverns: breccia very hard cement like substance that includes sand, rocks, debris, and lime stone that are fused together. Sometimes fossils are found incased in breccia making it very hard to get fossils out: dating methods: because there aren"t volcanoes you cant use absolute methods.
