Christian churches that are not formally protestant because they have a separate prophetic tradition . Mormon(church of jesus christ of the latter-day saints), christian science. Faith and reason most important issue in the church. Up until the 12th century the only real issue was faith. In the 12th century aristotle, greek philosopher, 384-322 b. c. was rediscovered. Aristotle made more sense in his explanations on everything than anything anyone else had except he wasn"t a christian and theologians felt that for christian thinkers in the 12th century this was a problem. Can aristotle"s great explanations be conformed and turned to christian thought they thought we have to do this but we have to have a reason. The guy that masters turning aristotle"s explanations into christian thought was st. thomas aquinas, St. thomas basically said you can believe in god with faith and reason.
