Slave labor became very important all over the americas. Slave movement was huge and gradually increased. With the spread of the plantation economy in the caribbean after about 1650, the need for cheap labor helped support a booming slave trade. Way they were shipped was horrible colonial identity: Death rates very high; due to new world, disease, interation. Settelers came from a variety of social and religious groups. Came to the new continent and built colonies with distinctive social, religious, political and economic styles.
