Evolution of fashion: exciting, full of innovations and imitations. History of fashion: tells us where we"ve been, suggest where fashion might be going. Mid-1800s: slimmer bustle silhouette, less layers, impractical, mass production of garments, factory workers, practical clothing, women"s blouses. Mid-1900s: princess shape, slimmed down look, voluminous hair and hats, wide and round, elaborated with ribbon, feathers, and bows. I don"t care what you think about me. Paul poiret- lampshade dresses, asian influences, fun style: dramatic styles, introduced cutting-edge styles. 1940s: the turban head covering was a popular trend in the 1940s, dior new look , 1939-1945 wwii, strong nationalism, nylon stockings, wartime rations, food, transportation, apparel industry. My clothes are built to show off the woman who wears them.
