Document Summary

Psyc 2000 section 3, final exam review-cumulative portion. The big debate is whether everything we do (our thoughts, actions, attitude, etc) is because of nature or nurture. Today it is said that both have an influence on all aspects of our lives. Descriptive research- limitations because everyone describes differently and verbal description could be biased. Correlation research- there could be another factor affecting aspects of the study. Scientific process-the scientific process either proves one hypothesis wrong or right; then you will have to repeat the process again. What makes a good theory? be able to identify strengths/weaknesses of different theories. A good theory explains, organizes, and predicts. (strengths) Neurons are the building block of the biopsychological study. Twin studies have shown the importance of both nature and nurture. Through twin studies we have shown how dominant heredity is on one"s life. Heritability- proportion of variation among individuals that we can attribute to genes.
