January 16, 2013: what is religion, the word carries a large amount a weight. Need to recognize that the weight given to this term is what we give it. By getting old we have high anxiety of the realization of death and so we think of a parent (god) and we make one up, someone who protects us: all people share aspects of our mind. Not taught, a higher power made us: carl jung, karl marx, throughout our lives we go through crisis and that opens our minds to religion which explains why some people have experience religion. Many native people say that the only reason we are able to be here is bc some sort of higher being helped us: don"t over simplify. They would trade things with other people like pellets for firearms: forced to settle, dreams are important and give us knowledge.
