Ob toolbox: tips for preventing social loafing in your group: Carefully choose the number of individuals you need to get the task done. Clearly define each member"s tasks in front of the entire group. Design and communicate to the entire group a system for evaluating each person"s contribution. Assign tasks that are highly engaging and inherently rewarding. Make sure individuals feel that they are needed. A group is a collection of individuals but different from teams in both scope and composition.
