Affective intensity: a force that attaches people to certain communities, networks, topics and tools. The internet is a space where affect is activated and expressed. Stickiness: things that are sticky are loaded with affect. Become sticky because of antagonism and enjoyment (positive and negative) Likes: claim that social media is geared only to foster positive effect (e. g. no dislike button). Extreme emotions: feelings tend to escalate quickly online from hate to love. Research argues that online relationships are more emotionally intimate. An easy way to make people flame is to talk about politics. When you are flaming, you don"t really use emotions. The faceless multitude: flaming can expand and create a mob. Grab and resonance: most popular example - porn. The reaction a person has when watching porn makes it hard to separate feelings from analysis. When things are hard to erase from our mind - grabbed. Something more than a connection happens, we can interact - resonance.
